I am having trouble completing a Self-Check.

Problem 1: You're receiving an "Oops!" result
If you are receiving an error screen saying, "Oops! There was an error with your recording. Make sure you’re in a quiet space and try again." while submitting your Baseline, please refer to some potential solutions below.

Potential Solutions:

  1. Be sure you are in a quiet place when you re-record. A lot of background noise in your recording such as talking, music, machinery, etc. can make it difficult for the MyAdvocate app to collect the recording needed.
  2. Be sure you are not coughing too close to the microphone on your phone. Coughing too close can actually garble the sound. Instead, keep the phone at least 12 inches away from your mouth when you record.
  3. Be sure that you're only submitting a series of at least 10 individual coughs (for MyAdvocate Smoker Recovery and MyAdvocate Vape Recovery) or at least 5 coughs (for MyAdvocate FCV Check) before clicking to submit your coughs. If provide a sound other than your coughs, such as talking or laughing during your recording, it will confuse the MyAdvocate app. In these cases, you will receive an error message that says “Oops! There was an error with your recording. Make sure you’re in a quiet space and try again.”



Problem 2: You're receiving a "We need a bit more..." or "Almost there!" result
If you are receiving a result screen saying, "We need a bit more..." or "Almost there!" while submitting your Baseline coughs, this simply means that the MyAdvocate app requires a few more sample coughs from you to accurately complete your Baseline cough model. Please refer to some potential solutions below.

Potential Solutions:

  1. Be sure you are in a quiet place when you re-record. A lot of background noise in your recording such as talking, music, machinery, etc. can make it difficult for the MyAdvocate app to collect the recording needed.
